A two day workshop was held on June 8-9, 2012 at the Graylyn International Conference Center (www.graylyn.com). The theme of the workshop was "The Psychology of Character: Preliminary Results," and coincided with the end of the first year of funded research through the psychology of character RFP. The speakers were the 12 PIs of projects that were funded in this area, in addition to The Character Project Leader and Psychology Co-Director. Others in attendance included the PIs of projects that were funded through the philosophy and theology of character RFPs, external referees for the RFP judging, the Project Leader, Directors, and staff, Wake Forest faculty and students, and interested academics.
The purpose of the workshop was threefold: (i) to provide feedback to the psychology PIs on their projects while there is still a year more of research to conduct, (ii) to inform PIs for philosophy and theology projects before they begin their funded work, and (iii) to disseminate preliminary results of new research on the psychology of character.
